Kavrepalanchok, Aug 18: The Dhulikhel-Dapcha section of the BP Highway is being widened.
The Division Road Office in Bhaktapur informed that it has planned to widen the existing road of 5.5 metre width to 10 metre with blacktop. The Dhulikhel-Dapcha stretch is about 20 kilometre long.
Senior divisional engineer Suman Yogesh informed that a detailed project report (DPR) had been prepared for the widening of the road. According to him, a preliminary environmental assessment report was being prepared.
The road expansion is expected to cost Rs 3.79 billion. Even the compensation for the lands on either side (15 metre) has been distributed to advance the road widening.
