WASHINGTON D.C. In a devastating incident in Shreveport, Louisiana, eight children aged between 1 and 14 were killed during a series of shootings on Sunday morning. The suspect was later shot dead in a confrontation with the police.
According to Shreveport Police Chief Wayne Smith, the shootings began around 6:00 AM across three different locations. Authorities believe the motive behind the massacre was a domestic dispute. Some of the victims were reportedly relatives of the gunman.
Police Pursuit and Investigation:
Police spokesperson Chris Bordelon stated that a total of 10 people were shot. Following the initial attacks, the suspect stole a vehicle to flee the scene, leading to a high-speed chase that ended in Bossier City. The gunman was killed during an exchange of fire with officers; however, no police personnel were injured in the encounter.
Louisiana State Police have taken over the investigation and are appealing to the public for any photos, videos, or information regarding the incident.
