Kathmandu, May 15: Minister for Physical Infrastructure and Transport Ramesh Lekhak has proposed to the Chinese Transport Minister to link Nepal’s border with road and railways connectivity.
Minister Lekhak, who is currently in China, made such proposal with Chinese Transport Minister Li Xiaopeng during a meeting Monday.
During the meeting, Chinese Minister Xiaopeng said that a new step has started in Nepal’s economic development after Nepal’s participation in One Belt One Road (OBOR) initiative.
The Chinese Minister accepted the proposal made by Minister Lekhak to investment and to extend support in mega projects in Nepal, according to Lekhak’s personal secretary Janak Bhatta.
Likewise, Nepal has named its Ambassador to China Leelamani Paudyal as the focal person for facilitating Chinese investment in mega projects while China has named the General Manager of its International Department for the same.
Both the focal persons have assumed their responsibilities from today itself.
