The district administration has announced that the VDC areas around Tikapur and Bhajani municipality of Kailali have been freed from riot-hit zone since 12.00 this night.
The areas had been declared riot-hit zone for the past one month.
Chief District Officer Mohan Bahadur Chapagain told RSS that the order from Ministry is necessary to extend the declaration of riot-hit area so it has been lifted from this midnight.
He added that the CDO has the only right to declare riot-hit zone for a month according to the Local Administration Act.
Despite the decision of lifting the announcement of riot-hit zones, the armies deputed in the areas will not be called back, he said.
A meeting of the District Security Committee issued a curfew order in Tikapur Municipality, Bhajani-Trishakti Municipality and Manuwa, Narayanpur, Joshipur, Durgauli VDCs coming into effect from this late midnight to 5:00 am tomorrow.
The local administration in Kailali has imposed a curfew order in Tikapur following the August 24 violence in which eight security personnel including SSP Laxman Neupane and a toddler lost their lives.
