Kathmandu, Sept 20: Nepal has lost to Oman in the ongoing selection round of the AFC U-16 Championship whittling away at Nepal’s chances of qualification.

The match was played in Kyrgyzstan. Nepal lost the match to Oman 1-3. The loss has effectively put Nepal’s dream of qualifying to the next round on a wait and see pendulum. Nepal’s qualification now depends on the performance of the other countries. Nepal had won against Jordan 2-1 and host Kyrgyzstan 4-2 earlier in the tournament.

In the last AFC U-16 Championship held in Thailand, Nepal fell short of success. Then Nepal only managed to defeat Kuwait and returned home after losses to Uzbekistan and North Korea.
