youbraj Adhikari, a flourishing talent in documentary making field is probably the most successful personality of today. The multitalented Adhikari, born in Jhapa District spent his school life there and enter into the capital city Kathmandu for his higher education after completing his S.L.C.
He from his childhood had a dream of becoming a star. With the strong desire to establish himself as an actor in Nepali film industry he began his acting carrier in 2058. During his struggling period when he had to manage his study as well as money to sustain in the expensive city he got lots of difficulties in his life.
However he got his first debus film as a leading actor in a movie ‘Karnali’. Moreover, he showed in acting talent in the film like, ‘Grahan’, ‘Sadyantra’ etc. But, life is not simple as we think. Adopting acting as a profession in Nepali film industry cannot fulfill the financial need of actors, which is a bitter reality.
As he belongs to a middle class family it was very difficult for him to sustain without money in this expensive city. Due to this he hails his interest in technical field. He thought of being a technician in the same field. Hereafter he engaged himself in video editing of the educational program called ‘School School Ma’ which is telecasted in Nepal Television being program presenter and producer for 4 years.
Besides that he worked as an anchor in the program called ‘Manjari’, all about folk songs for 1 year which was also telecasted in Nepal Television. Also he worked in the Television Kalakarmi Munch for 2year being Secretariat, which is the association of the group of people working in the television sector.
Collecting the bundle of knowledge related to several folk, modern and pop songs being an editor he modified his carrier as a music video director from 2061. There are around 300 different categorized videos made by him. Today the Multi Talented Adhikari is always busy in either Editing, or Shooting.
In the recent days, when there is downfall in music video production, Youbaraj have found a new area to sustain himself that is, Tourism Documentary Making. Perhaps no one has directed Tourism Documentary exceeding him. Mostly, the documentaries of the religious places such as, Muktinath, Manakamana, Janakpur, Lumbini, Palpa, Kathmandu, Various Temples, Pashupatinath, Budanilakantha etc have been compiled by him. Furthermore he himself have visit and Video graphed Mount Kailash and Maansarover at Tibet for 2 times and produced the best documentaries in 3 different languages, Hindi, Nepali and English.
His creativity and dedication attracts the foreign company which takes him to India for the purpose of documentary making of the historical and religious places like, Gaya, Prayag at Banaras. His brilliant direction ability in the work of the director of Shree Murgan Travels of London, Mr. Maheswaren impressed not only the Nepalese producer even Foreigners are equally impressed and are eager to work with him.
He is already finalized by the former Education Minister of Denmark Mr. Nick Nielsezx to direct his Everest Documentary in coming April. Adhikari have established himself as a perfectionist in Documentary Making of several Trekking agencies like, Monterosa, Expedition Himalaya, Nepal Trailblazer, Himalayan Glory and the Union Association of Trekking Agencies, TAAN in Nepal. He has also received many awards from various organizations.
During his work he has visited various Himalayan places like, Everest Base Camp, Dhaulagiri Basecamp, and video graphed the areas himself. He has compiled the documentaries of Everest Trek, Annapurna Round, Manaslu, Ghorepani, upper mustang trek etc. Youbaraj never compromise to give his best upon his work. Many popular narrators like, Robin Sharma, Michael Chand, Durganath Sharma, Shiwani Thapa, Akata Bhandari and Direndra Premrasi have given their precious voice into his documentaries.
Many tourism business persons say that, youbraj himself goes to the destined places for video graph and does direction, editing everything himself so he gives a perfect outcome. Creation comes from inside. Not everyone is blessed with this gift as youbraj have. That’s why they trust him and feel relief while handing over all documentary works responsibility.
According to Adhikari, “Video Making is not an easier task to do. It takes a lot of your attention. Imagination capacity, Experience, and Dedication are the most important factors that determine whether you can give best outcome or not. I haven’t thought that I would be able to establish my own post production house but I didn’t give up and continue to do my work best . And, today my hard work has been paid off. I think many people want to work with me because of my dedication and creation. I am satisfied with my work and my earning.
Tourism as well as Social organizations has chosen Adhikari for making their documentary. Pabitra Sewa Samaj Nepal, Sagarmatha Prathisthan is some of the examples. Apart from this he has shown his acting talents being a lead model in music videos, Nepali Tele serials and Advertisements too. He is also famous for his best Advertisement making. Till now he has compiled hundreds of advertisements of several goods, products, companies, schools, colleges and other institutions as well.
This creative personality is already assigned for coming February to go to India for directing religious documentary of the religious places of India by Shree Murgan Travels at London. On the one hand millions of people in Nepal is facing the problem of unemployment while in other hand there are still few people like youbraj who is not free for the single day. He does not search for job; jobs search him and come to his own post production house Focus Movie and Music Pvt.Ltd..
In this way a very normal boy who have come from Jhapa to Kathmandu knitting a beautiful dream of becoming a star, a hero in Nepali film industry have become a successful person in Documentary Making in the same field. His dream has only partially fulfilled. However, he expresses his satisfaction in his work, his profession. And, we can say this multitalented man has actually become a hero in his life.
