Norway state secretary Hoglund calls on PM Koirala

Kathmandu, 15 April:

Visiting State Secretary of the Norwegian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Mr Morten Hoglund, Wednesday called on Prime Minister Sushil Koirala.

During the meeting took place at Prime Minister’s residence, Baluwataar, they discussed about Nepal-Norway relations and bilateral assistance for development.

The meeting also focused on the Norwegian assistance to Nepal’s alternative energy, hydropower, education and good governance sectors, Mr Hoglund told media after the meeting.

On the occasion, PM Koirala thanked Norway for its support to Nepal, hoping the continuity of the support in the future, too.

Nepal and Norway had established bilateral ties in 1973 AD. Since then, Norway has been extending assistance to Nepal’s socio-economic development.

Mr Hoglund who is here on a two-day official trip is scheduled to meet separately with Finance Minister Dr Ram Sharan Mahat and Minister for Women, Children and Social Welfare Neelam KC (Khadka).
